STATE OF THE ARTS, a program on HEC-TV, recently created a segment titled “STAINED GLASS ART” which features EMIL FREI STAINED GLASS AND MOSAICS.   The segment highlights current and past projects of the company.

Emil Frei Stained Glass Artist William Frank is Awarded in FAITH & FORM 2015 Annual Awards Issue

Artist William Frank and the artisans at Emil Frei Stained Glass were awarded for a window produced for the Chapel at Cistercian Preparatory High School in Dallas, TX.  The window is featured in the Visual Arts Award Category of the most recent “Annual Awards Issue” of the journal FAITH & FORM.  FAITH & FORM is an Interfaith Journal on Religion, Art and Architecture with international readership.  This is a great honor for Will and Emil Frei Stained Glass.  Click below to see the 2015 Award Winners.  For the full article check out the most recent issue of FAITH & FORM.


“A Glimpse of Heaven: Stained Glass Windows in St. Francis Xavier College Church”

A new video titled “A Glimpse of Heaven: Stained Glass Windows in St. Francis Xavier College Church,” which was created by Emily Clemenson for St. Francis Xavier College Church  at Saint Louis University features windows created by Emil Frei Jr. in the 1930’s.  J.J. Mueller, S. J. and Nicholas Frei of Emil Frei Stained Glass walk us through a way to read and understand the composition of the stained glass.   The video images highlight the beauty of the College Church and of the stained glass windows.  The church is well worth visiting to see the beautiful stained glass.  To watch the new video at Saint Louis University’s Facebook page click here.  Or click here to watch the new video on YouTube.

A book by J.J. Mueller, S.J. & Thomas M. Rochford, S.J.

The stained glass windows of St. Francis Xavier (College) Church narrate an extraordinary story of community created by the twelve Jesuit saints whose lives the windows celebrate. These Jesuits–professors, pastors, missionaries, writers and administrators–lived in different eras but pursued a single mission that the College Church and Saint Louis University continue.

The renovation of the church in the 90s and the subsequent cleaning of the windows revealed details in the intricate stained glass that had been obscured for decades and are still difficult to interpret without the insight into the windows that this book provides.
